Young Women General President Strengthens Youth and Their Families During Her Visit to the Caribbean Islands

President Emily Belle Freeman, Young Women General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, completed her first visit to several islands in the Caribbean Area in May 2026, during which she participated in leadership meetings, youth devotionals, seminary classes, and gatherings with Church members. She shared messages centered on faith in Jesus Christ, discipleship, and service.

During the visit, President Freeman was accompanied by her husband, Gregory Garth Freeman; Elder Ahmad S. Corbitt, member of the Caribbean Area Presidency, and his wife, Sister Jayne L. Corbitt.

The tour included activities in Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and The Bahamas, where youth, local leaders, and families from various congregations participated.

Activities included leadership conferences broadcast to multiple Caribbean islands, meetings with missionaries, youth focus groups, and leadership training sessions for Relief Society, Young Women, Young Men, and Primary leaders.

These broadcasts connected members across several Caribbean nations and territories simultaneously, including Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Guyana, Suriname, and the Lesser Antilles.

As part of her schedule, President Freeman also taught seminary classes broadcast to English and French-speaking students throughout the region, participated in special devotionals, and met with leaders and youth in gatherings focused on strengthening youth leadership and encouraging the rising generation’s participation in the Church of Jesus Christ.

Through these encounters, the Church of Jesus Christ continues to strengthen the spiritual development of youth and leaders throughout the Caribbean, fostering opportunities for learning, unity, and ministering centered on Jesus Christ, and strengthening families and communities.
