The visitors included Chad H. Webb, Administrator of Seminaries and Institutes; Michael T. Nelson, Second Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency; and Gabriel Walter Reid, Second Counselor in the Sunday School General Presidency. Their tour covered four countries: the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Guyana.
During their visit, the leaders expressed their deep love for the people of the Caribbean, emphasizing the joy and importance of serving others. Activities included special devotionals for youth and seminary students, training sessions for youth leaders and teachers, and instruction on teaching in the Savior’s way. Hundreds of youth and leaders participated in these meetings both in person and through digital platforms.
One of the most meaningful moments was the participation of Gabriel and Heather Reid in meetings with families in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. Accompanied by Elder and Sister Cordón, as well as Elder and Sister Jean Baptiste, the Reids led intimate gatherings where families were invited to study the “Come, Follow Me” manual together.
These meetings provided a space for each family member to share their feelings, insights, and testimonies. Scriptures were read, spiritual experiences were shared, the Holy Spirit was felt, and an open dialogue was encouraged through questions and answers.
The visit of these General Authorities left a significant spiritual impact on Church members in the Caribbean, reinforcing the Church’s commitment to the spiritual growth of its youth and the strengthening of families throughout the region.
