The Port of Spain Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held its State Conference on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, at its meetinghouse in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The event welcomed a diverse group of attendees, including distinguished government officials and community leaders.

Among the honored guests were the Honourable Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms. Khadijah Ameen; the Honourable Minister of Defense, Mr. Wayne Sturge; and His Worship, the Mayor of Port of Spain, Alderman Chinua Alleyne. Also in attendance were representatives from the Rotary Club of Port of Spain and members of the Living Waters Community, reflecting a spirit of unity and collaboration across civic and religious sectors.

The conference featured a series of uplifting and spiritually enriching messages. A young member of the Church, Brother Ramlogan, shared a heartfelt testimony, declaring his personal conviction that God lives and expressing his deep sense of divine love. His words resonated with many in the congregation, setting a tone of faith and reflection.

Mission President Van Gils addressed the congregation with insights into the Church’s service missionary program. He explained, “It provides opportunities for young men and women with physical or mental challenges to serve through acts of service rather than proselyting.” His remarks highlighted the inclusive nature of the Church’s missionary efforts and its commitment to providing meaningful service opportunities for all.

The conference concluded with a powerful message from Stake President Christopher Danzell, who emphasized the importance of living one’s faith openly and authentically. “I am a Christian,” he declared. “See me, not just in my name but in the way I walk, the way I live, and the way I love.” His words served as a call to action for members to embody Christian values in their daily lives.

Following the conference, the Church partnered with the Rotary Club of Port of Spain in a charitable initiative, donating five hundred school vouchers to the Honourable Ministers. This gesture underscored the Church’s ongoing commitment to education and community development, and its willingness to collaborate with civic organizations to uplift families and children in need.
