During their ongoing tour of the Caribbean, on Sunday, February 11th, 2024, the members of the Port of Spain Ward in the Trinidad Port of Spain Stake were privileged to receive guidance from Sister Susan H. Porter, Primary General President, and Sister Kristin Yee, the Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, they shared their insights with the saints. The speakers also included Elder Moises Villanueva, a General Authority Seventy, accompanied by Sister Villanueva, as well as Elder Gamiette, an Area Seventy, and his wife Sister Gamiette.

In her remarks, Sister Porter emphasized the inspiration that Heavenly Father provides to His children on how to positively impact the lives of others. She encouraged the saints to face their burdens with an outward focus, reminding them that despite challenges, Heavenly Father is always willing to answer prayers. Sister Porter highlighted that, even if circumstances don't change, the Lord will provide impressions that lead to personal transformation.

Sister Yee continued a similar theme, reminding the saints that there are times when the Lord may ask them to do difficult or unfamiliar things. Trust in Him, she urged, as He will prepare the way. The overarching message was clear: despite challenges, happiness is a choice, and true happiness comes from trusting in the Lord.

Sister Gamiette echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that trials are progression opportunities. She expressed the importance of trusting in the Lord and following the covenant path. In his remarks, Elder Gamiette shared his testimony of how the Lord utilizes small means to achieve great things. He reinforced the idea that unpleasant experiences are part of life but can lead to positive transformation when surrendered to Christ.

As the meeting approached its conclusion, Elder and Sister Villanueva reassured the members that they were united to support each other, lightening one another's burdens. They acknowledged that despite our best intentions, things may not always go as planned. Nevertheless, they encouraged members not to give up, emphasizing that the Lord is aware of their circumstances and will provide help to those who trust in Him.
