The initiative was launched at the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital and seeks to train patients, clients, and clinical and non-clinical staff in kitchen gardening, composting, and recycling techniques. Through practical activities connected to nature, the program aims to strengthen life skills, encourage healthy routines, and create therapeutic spaces that contribute to personal development and social inclusion.
The program is being carried out in collaboration with the North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) and includes outpatient mental health services at the Pembroke Street and Diego Martin clinics, in addition to the care provided at the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital. Representatives of The Church of Jesus Christ present at the launch included Elder Weekes and Sister Mayerling Weekes, along with Sister Annette Jones and Elder Don Jones.
