Disabled and Abandoned Individuals Receive Aid from the Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-Day Saints

On November 30, 2024, Huize Mateoekoe, an organization located in Lelydorp, Suriname, received some needed donations from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

On November 30, 2024, Huize Mateoekoe, an organization located in Lelydorp, Suriname, received some needed donations from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The organization is dedicated to providing care for children and elderly individuals with physical and mental disabilities,

Huize Matoekoe is home to ten permanent residents who are orphans or elderly people with disabilities who have been abandoned. Other children who still visit their families on weekends also receive care from this organization. Every weekday, these residents and 30 to 40 children from the nearby area go to a special school within the organization's grounds.

Much-needed cleaning products, toilet paper, toothpaste, hand and bath soap, dishwashing products, and detergent were donated, along with food products such as rice, beans, flour, peanut butter, jam, and chocolate spread.

Mrs. Marijke Zschuschen, a board member of Huize Matoekoe, expressed her deep gratitude on behalf of the organization.

Huize Matoekoe's mission is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for its residents, ensuring their well-being and fostering a sense of community. Acts of kindness and support from organizations like The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are invaluable in helping the organization continue its vital work.
